Kamala beach is a small fisherman village located just fifteen minutes by taxi north of Patong beach. Tranquil and calm, surrounded by forested hills, the beach at Kamala is one of the most beautiful in Phuket. The northern end of the unspoiled and scenic bay features a sandy beach, shaded by Casuarina trees. The atmosphere is very relaxed and it is a very pleasant location for those who are looking for a quiet place for sun bathing or taking a long quiet stroll along an almost deserted beach. Kamala bay provides, besides its family attractions, good swimming in crystal clear water on its northern end. To explore the coral reefs just a few meters offshore, all you need are fins and a snorkel to enjoy the underwater beauty. Even more magnificent scenery awaits you if you are a scuba diver.

If you head north from Kamala Beach before you arrive to Surin Beach you will find a small but beautiful beach called Laem Singh beach. You park your car or motorbike on top of the hill and take am adventurous trip down to this small beach. Well down at Laem Singh you can enjoy a relaxing massage right on the beach, delicious Thai food in one of the restaurants or take your snorkel and fins and head out for some beautiful snorkeling along the rocks at Laem Singh. The middle part of Kamala bay is dominated by a village with small guesthouses and bigger resorts dotted along the beach. It is also here where you can find a lot of beachside restaurants with a broad selection of Thai food, seafood and some places with delicious western/European food.

For those looking for night life activities there are some bars located down by the Kamala beach and you can find more bars located on the Kamala main road as well. The main attraction of Kamala, however, is the Phuket Fantasea show where you can go and enjoy a fabulous pre-show buffet followed by one of the most famous shows in Asia. A show in Las Vegas-style, based on a story about the village of Kamala. The fisherman village atmosphere remains here in Kamala with fishermen casting their nets and the occasional water buffalo roaming the beach unattended.
